First Baptist is a group of people in Kent Washington who are simply trying to love and follow Jesus in an honest and real way.  Our desire is to take Jesus – his life, his teaching, his death, his resurrection – more seriously than we take any other thing.  That’s pretty much how we understand what the word “Christian” means.

We think Jesus is a big deal, and are excited to let everyone know why.  We are a church full of people from different backgrounds, different ethnicities, and different life situations; with one thing in common – Jesus gave us hope!  Are you looking for hope?  We believe Jesus transforms us and gives the deep hope our hearts long for.  It doesn’t matter what we have done, or how messy our lives have gotten – this hope is rooted in a grace that only Jesus can offer. The heartbeat of our church is to help the world find this hope, and see lives forever changed by it!
